Lost and Found — J. Svobodová, P. Schenker, M. Romanyshyn & Allstar Refjúdží Band | Pittsburgh, USA

The new performance with the working title of Lost and Found is another in a series of projects by the Archa Theatre created on the basis of the personal stories of people who for various reasons have had to leave their country.

The director and founder of the City of Asylum Pittsburgh Henry Reese asked Jana Svobodová, Michael Romanyshyn and Philipp Schenker
to apply their experience from previous projects and create a performance involving new residents of Pittsburgh. The first phase of the project took place in Pittsburgh in late February and early March. Over the course of a weeklong residence, the artists met with immigrants from Congo, Burma, Bhutan, Sudan and Iraq, who recently obtained asylum in the United States. Their stories will form the backbone of the new project. A central part of the concept will be new songs by the Allstar Refjúdží Band. During their stay in Pittsburgh, the Allstar Refjúdží Band will be joined by local musicians, with whom they will prepare new songs for the performance under the leadership of Michael Romanyshyn.

The performance of Lost and Found will premiere in Pittsburgh on June 28 and 29, 2014. The project was created as a coproduction of the Archa Theatre and the City of Asylum Pittsburgh.
