Laibach: SPECTRE
Fans of Slovenian band Laibach have had to wait eight long years for their new studio album. But at the beginning of March the band finally rewarded their patience with Spectre, which they will perform live at Prague's Archa Theatre on April 18.
Laibach was formed in 1980 in Trbovlje, Yugoslavia, but it was immediately banned from performing throughout the country by the totalitarian regime. They only found freedom to produce their music abroad. Their big breakthroughs were the 1987 album Opus dei and subsequent release of Sympathy For The Devil in 1989. The controversial band is known for its remarkable cover versions of hits by Opus, Queen and the Rolling Stones, distinctive industrial music and dazzling stage show. The world fell in love with Laibach and loves it to this day. The new album Spectre comes out eight years after the release of the album Volk.
