AKCENT 2012 / Theatre from the Passage and Viera Dubačová

 

Viera Dubačová is a theatre director and activist fighting for Roma rights, a deputy, director of the Arterapia Festival and founder of the Theatre from the Passage.
The Theatre from the Passage is an extraordinary place. Its actors are people with various kinds of disabilities. They are charming and talented. After performing in the Theatre from the Passage they have worked together with many famous directors, choreographers and musicians.
The film The Stranger documents their work under the guidance of choreographers Jara Viňarsky and Viera Dubačová in a performance that they created together with the Jump Start Theater in San Antonio, Texas. Viera Dubačová will bring two special guests with her from Banská Štiavnica: Roma activists Jaroslav Koleda and Mária Koledová. The plans of the Theatre from the Passage will be presented by its current director Eva Ogurčáková.
