AKCENT 2011 - FAMU in Burma, Burma at FAMU
Since 2005, the Film and TV School of Prague’s Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) has been continuing the activities of the Japanese writer, curator and activist in inner Burma, and in cooperation with the Czech and French foreign ministries, it has begun to organise a series of unofficial workshops for young Burmese filmmakers. The activities have gradually become wider in their scope, culminating in the first semi-official film festival in a public space – the Wathannfilmfest, which took place in Rangoon in September 2011.
Michael Bregant and Vít Janeček’s presentation will include samples from the output of workshops and the work of Burmese students who are currently studying in Prague.
