Parkin' son | TANEC PRAHA 2013
Giulio D'Anna (IT/NL) > Parkin' son
A son and father, vitality and years of practiced physicality, and a transfer to the stage of the intimateness of the closest relationship. The story of two bodies, which in their mutuality represent the past and the future. But the life history of both performers and its theatre abstraction are limited without mercy by a malicious disease. The project comes out of the longing to understand an insurmountable obstacle as a new way of life, when even seemingly unimportant moments can represent a fundamental victory. The piece won the Diorathe Dance Prize at the Netherlandse Dansdagen 2012 in Maastricht.
"Together they trigger a turmoil of emotions, stabbing references, timeless archetypes, they unveil modesties with such an honest ostentation of the body that it becomes a simple, natural love gesture. Two bodies linked by family intimacy, gained complicity, private images that don’t fear other people’s look. On the contrary. They want it to share their human condition." Giuseppe Distefano
