HaDivadlo: World in Danger
A follow up to Jiří Havelka's cult production Indian in Danger. This time Havelka has taken inspiration from Albert Einstein's statement that if bees were to disappear humanity would only have four more years left to live. The disappearance of bees is not merely a hypothesis, however, but an acute problem, which currently represents a danger for humanity even greater than global warming. In connection with the current phenomenon of CCD (colony collapse disorder)
Havelka embarks on an examination of the wondrous beehive, which is subordinate to the mysterious laws of life. Can we uncover and understand these laws? And will rational thought, which Western civilization extols, be enough? Are human interventions in the environment so disruptive that nature begins to take matters into its own hands? The original production World in Danger asks all of these questions. Main roles: bees.
