CocoRosie - Tales Of A Grass Widow

CocoRosie will come to Prague with their brand-new fifth album, which will be released at the end of May. The musical sister act was born out of a collaboration with Icelandic composer Valgeir Sigurðsson with the participation of a number of guests. Eleven new songs hold the promise of a courageous mix of electronica and organic sounds that evoke a futuristic atmosphere as well as a return to nature. Many surprises are in store!

Masters of disturbing contrasts, sisters Sierra and Bianca Casady once again confound audiences with their “freak-folk” melodies. Dreamy surfaces melt into drum 'n' bass rhythms, tremulous folk alternate with supple disco, and opera tunes fade into electronic surges. The American pioneers of freak folk launched their musical collaboration after a long separation in 2003. The duo skilfully mines the contrasts of their voices. Sierra, who posses opera training, accompanies her vocals by playing on the harp, while Bianca, a versatile pop vocalist, gracefully crosses the boundaries of singing, animal noises and her distinctive mewling.
